June 27 DecodeWatched The Da Vinci code tonight...or yesterday evening.just to catch the fever.
Though the reviews are kinda indifferent, I regard it to be a nice movie.
No.1:Have to admit that I tend to be fascinated with something mysterious---some opportunities to try, some puzzles to sort out, and some uncertainties to dive into, as long as they are not missions impossible. The different timelines, people and locations all naturally converge into one reality at the end of the movie. Although there are loads of typical Hollywood-style shocks which make no sense, the story is generally good in that it conprises all the elements of crimes, history, religion, and fictions to make a success. Even that its logic is not strictly consistent, the modern Hitchcock way of story-telling is still enjoyed by millions of picky movie-goers.(Tried some IQ test tonite, got 133. What does this mean?some percent higher than Forest Gump?)
No.2:A critical way of looking at the religion might be the rite way of thinking when it comes to religious beliefs. Jesus might have once existed as a human being, had a wife and a whole family. The Bible stories have never been told as one single version. Historical records show that conferences were once held to decide on the contents of Jesus's words. This might be that as the words were passed from person to person, they lost the consistency. The Bible today might not be the same as the the Bible centuries ago. It reminds me of a song"故事里的事,说是就是,不是也是;故事里的事,说不是就不是,是也不是。“ In all, religion is still something similar to fiction for me. In Da Vinci Code, we can actually see how a fiction can "explain" a religion.
No.3: A consideration of feminism combined with humanity is shown in the novel. The dominating religion in the west has always been based on divinity. The concept of Jesus as a human being should earn some credit although it's not original in The Code(see Holy Blood and Holy Grail). I dun't know when the first Bible came out, but if it was during the time when females were honored for their ability of giving decendents and maintaining the bloodstream, it is highly likely that the God would even be a female. Have to clarify that I dun't totally agree with some of the ideas of the modern feminism, for example, the rights for working men's jobs etc(so let the guys go for I-bankers:P),I do respect the ideology of harmonious diversity and uniformity in the Chinese "Yin & Yang". It's absolutely true that women are different from men both physically and mentally. However, it never means that women are less than men. In the recorded history, this claim is not confirmed. It is demonstrated that men powered the entire history. Does it mean that women are always mentally incomparable to men? or they have been mentally impaired to some extent given their social roles as house-keepers all through the the history? I do believe in a traditional Chinese philosophy that things reverse when they go to the extreme. If refer to the financial market, this phenomenon can be called" mean-reverting" behaviour"(see Mele's lecture notes or Bernard&Thomas paper...which year???)In the long run, the world is converging into a harmony, or a "mean", so the humanity might be the way-out for masculinity and feminity as it's a harmonious combination of the two.
(Stop here cos it dawns:P) June 17 Revival(nonsense)It's wierd that my space is bugged on my own laptop...have to write on the school computer.
Feeling revived after the LSE exam crush...but a bit uncomfortably to think what i've done
it's so nice to have some social life last night. thank u for organizing the smoky BBQ party, Rebecca. we made ur kitchen and garden such a big mess! it's sooooooo kind of ur sweet couple to hold the party.
when u r at school, u r dreaming to get that boring life done as soon as possible. but once u get out of there, u might get more bored in ur job routine...but anyway, it's all what i want at the moment----get a job after all my school life, and get bored!!!!!!
Here comes the cross road... where is my next destination??? wheneverook back on my past life, i always feel sorry to have so many conflictions in me---a baby face but a man-like personality, a tiny figure but a big dream, a soft-heart but a strong resolution...these things are biting me everyday, and making me look melancholy sometimes~~~just to say, it's nothing about u. it's me, not contented with myself.
i'd be soooooooooooo extremely happy if i could be pretty, fashionable, and simple. u know the tricks, those are things that all the happinesses dwell in for gals. but i got none...ai...
well, im lucky enough to be a gal with this height. it would have been more disastrous for a guy. what else can i hope for?
again, a job? |
